Our Philosophy

Our success is based on our experience and our scientifically designed Performance System. The following are brief descriptions of our various system components:

Functional Movement Screening

A simple yet scientific assessment of how each client moves and what limitations they face. This provides us information to assess which areas, movement patterns or muscles may need specific attention. A few simple assessments will allow us to determine how and where to concentrate efforts to improve your overall physical functionality.

Soft tissue

A “tight” muscle doesn’t respond to exercise as well as a pliable one. Improving the quality of your muscle tissue and other soft tissue will improve your ability to perform the movements required in your training program.

Mobility and flexibility

Mobility and flexibility deficits are determined by using the Functional Movement Screen and are then improved by focusing our efforts on only the areas that need improving. Improved mobility of your joints and flexibility of your muscles will allow for a greater range of motion, decrease the potential for injury and improve the way your body moves and feels.

Prehabilitation and activation

Prehabilitation and activation exercises are used to reverse the effects of your daily life. Often certain muscles become used less regularly and need to be “turned on.” The exercises used during this phase of the system activate the mind-to-muscle connection prior to more vigorous activity.

Movement Preparation

Movement preparation will increase core temperature and integrate whole body movements to warm up prior to strength training. The exercises used during this phase will greatly enhance the effects of the next phase.

Strength, power and speed training

Strength, power and speed training result in a high metabolic demand, increased lean tissue development and help you develop the strength needed to perform your activities of daily living. During this phase of our program, exercises are chosen to get the most bang for your buck.

Metabolic Conditioning

The final phase of our system is a higher intensity (scaled for each client’s unique level) aerobic finisher where we use untraditional, cutting-edge tools to accelerate fat loss and improve your aerobic conditioning.

As with any training program, it is extremely important to understand and agree that it is your responsibility and in your best interest to inform your trainer of any conditions or changes in health, both now and on-going, which might affect your ability to exercise safely and with minimal risk of injury.
